Synkronized Distribution, a company based in the United States, has recently obtained the global distribution rights for a new crime drama movie called “The Vortex.” This deal was made with Iuvit Media Sales and will be presented at the European Film Market in Berlin.
Directed by Richard Zelniker, known for his work on “As Night Comes,” and written by Steven Barr, “The Vortex” features actors Billy Gardell, Jaina Lee Ortiz, and Jamie McShane in leading roles. The movie dives into the dramatic true story of the 1980 fire at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. It follows a Native American Paiute woman who works as a cleaner in the casino and accidentally triggers a series of bizarre events and mysterious winning streaks at the gambling tables.
The plot thickens around the casino’s comedian, portrayed by Gardell, who battles his own gambling problems while serving as a makeshift therapist to an array of quirky characters. He finds himself at a crossroads, facing a decision that could change his life forever.
“The Vortex” is brought to life by Lucid Pictures in collaboration with Olliecorp and produced by Richard Zelniker, Adriana Rotaru, Callie Nguyen Zelniker, and Justin Richards. The film also stars Christopher Titus, Azita Ghanizada, Nick Gomez, Emily Alabi, Jeremy Luke, Mary Scheer, Nick Gracer, Yolanda Snowball, and Shaan Sharma, among others.
Billy Gardell is represented by UTA and Artist Management International, Jaina Lee Ortiz by Verve and Link Entertainment, Jamie McShane by Paradigm and Trademark Talent, and Richard Zelniker by Sovereign Talent Group.
