Johnnie Burn, who just won an Oscar for best sound for his work in “The Zone of Interest,” experienced a memorable moment the day after his win. Despite the excitement from the previous night’s Vanity Fair party making him forget his ID, Burn was supposed to start working on a new film project at the Fox Studio Lot in Los Angeles. The film stars Jenna Ortega, Barry Keoghan, and The Weeknd, and is directed by Trey Edward Shults.
When he arrived at the studio without his ID, Burn cleverly used his Oscar trophy as his pass. Showing it to the security guard, he joked if the award could act as his ID. Impressed, the guard not only let him through but also provided a VIP escort to his destination. Burn humorously noted that having an Oscar certainly has its perks.

The Zone of Interest, the film that earned Burn his Oscar, also picked up the award for Best International Feature. Burn’s involvement in another film, Poor Things, showcased his talent further, as the movie won awards in costume design, makeup and hairstyling, and production design, even though it wasn’t nominated for best sound.
