Recently, actor Jonathan Majors, known for his roles in Marvel movies, faced a significant setback in his career. He was supposed to play the lead role in a new movie about the life of NBA player Dennis Rodman, titled ’48 Hours in Vegas’. This film was meant to focus on Rodman’s famous trip to Las Vegas during the 1998 NBA finals. However, Majors has been removed from the project.
This decision came after Majors was found guilty in a court case involving his ex-girlfriend, Grace Jabbari. The case was about an assault that happened in the back of a car. Majors, who is 34 years old, faced charges of assault and harassment. After a two-week trial in a state court in Manhattan, the jury found him guilty of one count of assault and one count of harassment, but he was cleared of the other charges.
Following this verdict, Lionsgate, the company originally involved in producing the Rodman biopic, decided to withdraw its support. The movie was being written by Jordan VanDina and produced by Phil Lord, Chris Miller, and Aditya Sood. Interestingly, Dennis Rodman himself is serving as an executive producer for the film.
Majors is scheduled to be sentenced on February 6. He could face up to a year in prison, depending on the sentencing decision for the assault and harassment convictions. This development has undoubtedly impacted his career, especially with the loss of the role in Rodman’s biopic. Source
