Joey King shares her thoughts on acting, particularly about not being a method actor, during a recent chat on the “Just for Variety” podcast. She’s been working on a new series about the Holocaust called “We Were the Lucky Ones,” based on a true story from a book by Georgia Hunter. In the series, Logan Lerman plays Hunter’s grandfather, Addy, and King plays his sister, Halina, with other actors like Sam Woolf and Robin Weigart also starring.
King admires method actors for their dedication but says that approach isn’t for her. During the filming of such a heavy series, she found it important to have light moments with her co-stars between scenes. The cast supported each other through the tough times, and Hulu even provided trauma therapists on set to help.

King also opened up about experiencing antisemitism from a young age, especially after joining Instagram. However, she’s not surprised by online bullying anymore, seeing it as just one part of a larger problem.
Throughout her career, King has worked in various genres, from action and romance to drama. She’s excited about her upcoming romantic comedy “A Family Affair” with Nicole Kidman and Zac Efron, mentioning her longtime admiration for Efron since her “High School Musical” days.
King also talked about working with Taylor Swift on music videos, praising Swift’s confidence and vision as a director. Source
