Matthew Vaughn is busy working on a new movie called “The Stuntman,” which is being directed by Damien Walters, a former stuntman himself. This movie is about two brothers who become stuntmen. They’re making the movie under Vaughn’s company, Marv Studios, and Walters’ Zebbo Productions. They even set up a ’70s-style carnival in Hampshire for filming, complete with big rides like a helter-skelter and a Ferris wheel.
The movie plans to debut at a film festival, either in Toronto this year or at Sundance in 2025. It’s also part of a trilogy that includes another movie Vaughn produced, “School Fight,” about a teenager’s schoolyard battle over love, and a future reboot of the movie “Kick-Ass.” “The Stuntman” is actually the middle film in this series, which Vaughn hinted at in an interview, calling it “Vram” as a temporary name.
Vaughn has been talking about remaking “Kick-Ass” for a while, since starting his company Marv Studios. He’s already halfway through writing it.
Vaughn and Walters had worked together before, notably on Vaughn’s spy movie “Argylle,” where Walters helped direct some of the action. Walters, who has a background in gymnastics and free running, has also done stunt work on several big movies, including some in the Kingsman series and the original “Kick-Ass.”
