Kevin Kölsch and Dennis Widmyer, the creative minds behind the Pet Sematary reboot, are teaming up once again for their next project, a survival thriller titled “The Swallow.” Grace Van Dien, known for her role in Stranger Things, is set to star as Ziggy in the film, with Kölsch and Widmyer also handling the screenplay. Production on “The Swallow” is scheduled to begin in the summer, with additional casting for supporting characters expected before filming commences. The movie will be produced by James Harris, Mark Lane, and John Finemore.
The Swallow will follow a group of teenagers embarking on a camping trip in a remote forest, only to encounter a mysterious and insatiable force lurking beneath the earth’s surface. With no means of escape, Ziggy and her friends must navigate the perilous situation as the unknown entity consumes everything in its path. Kölsch and Widmyer described the film as a relentless horror experience, promising non-stop tension and primal terror that intensifies until the very end.
