ABC News Studios and Hulu are teaming up again to provide true-crime enthusiasts with a thrilling start to the New Year. Continuing its trend of spotlighting lesser-known stories from recent decades, the streaming service is set to release three new titles that are sure to captivate viewers. The lineup begins on January 4th with the premiere of Daughters of the Cult, followed by the releases of Me, Hereafter, and Death in the Dorms Season 2 later in the year.
For those who were fascinated by Netflix’s Keep Sweet: Pray and Obey, Daughters of the Cult is a must-watch. This documentary centers on a dangerous offshoot of Mormon fundamentalism. It offers a glimpse into the lives of women who were part of this cult, sharing their harrowing experiences of manipulation and fear.

The series delves into the story of Ervil LeBaron, infamously known as the Mormon Manson. LeBaron led a fundamentalist Mormon group in the Southwest and Mexico during the 1970s. Raised in a breakaway Mormon sect that embraced polygamy, the LeBaron family practiced plural marriage extensively. The documentary features interviews with many of LeBaron’s now-adult children, who open up about the years of suffering under their father’s extreme beliefs.
What distinguished LeBaron’s sect was its involvement in a series of brutal assassinations. LeBaron used his influence and fear tactics to compel his followers to eliminate several of their rivals. Daughters of the Cult not only sheds light on the lives of those ensnared in LeBaron’s cult but also highlights the efforts of law enforcement to capture and prosecute him.
In 2022, the partnership between the streamer and ABC News Studios began with the aim of presenting gripping and unbelievable true-crime narratives. While awaiting the arrival of Daughters of the Cult Me, Hereafter, and the second installment of Death in the Dorms in 2024, viewers can explore a variety of other engrossing stories. Available now are three seasons of their renowned docuseries Wild Crime, along with other compelling series such as Betrayal: The Perfect Husband and Killing County. Source
