A24’s new movie Civil War is doing really well in cinemas. It’s not just popular in America, but people overseas are loving it too.
The movie, directed by Alex Garland, stars Kirsten Dunst as a photojournalist in a divided United States. It’s made $45.7 million in the USA and $20 million internationally. That’s a total of $67.3 million so far, and it’s expected to make even more.
Even though the movie is mainly about the USA, people in other countries are enjoying it too. It’s been especially popular in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands. It’s also doing great in smaller markets like Brazil, Spain, Belgium, Finland, and Portugal.
Civil War is A24’s most expensive movie yet, costing $50 million to make. But it’s already one of their highest-grossing films, following hits like Everything Everywhere All at Once, Hereditary, and Lady Bird.
