Lionsgate has just released the very first trailer for Guy Ritchie’s upcoming World War II film, “The Ministry Of Ungentlemanly Warfare.” This action-packed movie features an impressive ensemble cast, including stars like Henry Cavill, Alan Ritchson, Eiza González, Henry Golding, Alex Pettyfer, Cary Elwes, and more. Please mark your calendars because it’s set to hit theaters on April 19.
This film is billed as an “outrageous true story,” drawing inspiration from actual events involving the UK’s Prime Minister, Winston Churchill, and the famous James Bond author, Ian Fleming. The plot revolves around a top-secret WWII combat organization that employed unconventional and rather ungentlemanly tactics to take on the Nazis. Their actions played a pivotal role in changing the course of the war and laid the foundation for modern Black Ops units.
In the trailer, we get a glimpse of how Henry Cavill’s character assembles this unique squad. He warns Cary Elwes’ character by saying, “You won’t like them; they’re all…bad.” The trailer is filled with intense and action-packed scenes as the covert agents embark on a mission to eliminate Nazi targets. Cavill’s character is seen with a certain level of enthusiasm as he takes down the enemy.
This film is an adaptation of a book with the same title, written by Damien Lewis, a war correspondent and military historian. The screenplay for the movie was crafted by a team of talented writers, including Paul Tamasy, Eric Johnson, Arash Amel, and, of course, Guy Ritchie himself. The project was initially conceived by Tamasy and Johnson and later pitched to producer Jerry Bruckheimer and Paramount back in 2015.
