The Transformers – Official Trailer
In this movie, Chris Hemsworth lends his voice to the character of young Optimus Prime, initially known as Orion Pax. Brian Tyree Henry voices D-16, who later becomes Megatron, Optimus Prime’s adversary. The trailer reveals their beginnings as basic worker robots that can’t yet transform.
As the story progresses, they develop the ability to turn into vehicles and acquire weapons. They face off against a new enemy that resembles a plant and causes trouble on their home planet, Cybertron.
The cast also includes Scarlett Johansson as Elita, Keegan-Michael Key as Bumblebee, Jon Hamm as Sentinel Prime, and Laurence Fishburne as Alpha Trion. Hemsworth and Henry gave a preview of the film on April 11 at CinemaCon.
The Transformers series began with a 1986 animated film and was later revitalized by Michael Bay in 2007 with a live-action version starring Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox. That movie was a huge success, earning $700 million and leading to several sequels and a spinoff. The latest movie before this, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, came out last summer and made $439 million worldwide.
Michael Bay directed the first five films of the new series. Travis Knight and Steven Caple Jr. directed the later films. Transformers One is directed by Josh Cooley, known for Toy Story 4, and the screenplay is by Andrew Barrer and Gabriel Ferrari. Steven Spielberg is one of the executive producers, alongside others including Brian Goldner and Brian Oliver. Source
