J.K. Rowling’s popular children’s book The Christmas Pig, published in 2021, is going to be turned into a movie. Rowling’s own production company, Bronte, which is also behind the TV adaptations of her Cormoran Strike detective series for BBC and HBO, will handle the production.
The Christmas Pig features illustrations by Jim Field and even had promotional videos created by Swift Films when it first came out. The story centers on a boy named Jack whose beloved toy, Dur Pig (or DP), is lost on Christmas Eve due to his stepsister throwing it out of the car.
Although he receives a new toy pig named Christmas Pig (shortened to CP) as a replacement, Jack still longs for DP. In an effort to lift Jack’s spirits, CP suggests a daring plan to retrieve DP. This plan shrinks them down and sends them to the Land of the Lost, where they encounter whimsical characters, including Santa Claus, and go through many challenges. Eventually, Jack learns to deal with his loss and returns home with Christmas Pig. Rowling was motivated to write this book by her son’s attachment to his twin toy pigs.
Apart from children’s books, Rowling is famous for her Harry Potter series, which has expanded into movies, theme parks, and various products. Recently, it was announced that Warner Bros., the studio responsible for the original Harry Potter and the Fantastic Beasts movies, is working on a new TV show based on the Harry Potter books.

Rowling has also written novels for adults, such as the Cormoran Strike series, which she wrote under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith. This series has been adapted into a TV show that began in 2017, starring Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger. The show is still ongoing, with its sixth season currently being filmed in the U.K. Source
