The TV show “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” had a great start on Disney+ and Hulu. In its first six days, it attracted 13.3 million viewers. This success places it in the top five most-watched season openers of 2023 on these platforms. It’s a big deal because other popular shows like “The Mandalorian” Season 3, “Loki” Season 2, and “Ahsoka” also premiered this year on Disney+, along with several big shows on Hulu.
Comparing it to other shows, Ahsoka had 14 million viewers in five days, and Loki Season 2 got 10.9 million in three days. But Percy Jackson’s numbers are still impressive, especially since it’s aimed at younger readers and is just starting its journey as a potential big franchise. For example, “Goosebumps,” another kids’ book adaptation, only got 4.2 million viewers in three days on Disney+.

It’s worth noting that these 13.3 million viewers only counted the first episode, even though two episodes were released at the same time. Also, the show did well across both Disney+ and Hulu, even though only the first episode is on Hulu. The rest of the season will stream exclusively on Disney+.
Not just on Disney+ and Hulu, but “Percy Jackson” also set a record for Disney Branded Television, which has produced shows like Goosebumps, Superkitties, and Bluey. It’s the most-watched premiere in six days compared to these other shows.
