Kristen Stewart is making a captivating comeback to cinema with Love Lies Bleeding, a gripping romantic thriller from A24, marking her first movie appearance since starring in David Cronenberg’s horror film “Crimes of the Future” in 2022.
In this enthralling narrative, Stewart portrays Lou, a dedicated gym manager. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she encounters Jackie, a determined bodybuilder played by Katy M. O’Brian. Jackie, a newcomer in town, harbours ambitions of making it big in Las Vegas’s bodybuilding scene. As Lou and Jackie’s paths cross, they find themselves in a whirlwind romance. However, their passionate affair soon faces perilous obstacles, including threats from Jackie’s felonious father, as depicted in the film’s thrilling trailer.
Katy M. O’Brian, known for roles in “Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania” and “The Mandalorian,” will also appear in the upcoming film “Twisters.” Meanwhile, Stewart, fresh from her 2022 Oscar nomination for her portrayal of Princess Diana in “Spencer,” delivers another compelling performance in this film.
The movie also features acclaimed actors like Ed Harris, known from “Apollo 13,” Jena Malone from “The Hunger Games: Catching Fire,” and Dave Franco of “Now You See Me” fame.
Behind the scenes, the film is helmed by director Rose Glass, who, alongside Weronika Tofilska, crafted the script. Producers Andrea Cornwell and Oliver Kassman bring this A24 and Film 4 co-production to life. This project is Glass’s follow-up to her 2019 psychological horror hit “Saint Maud,” which garnered significant acclaim and 17 nominations at the British Independent Film Awards.
