The 74-year-old actor revealed in a podcast that he will be in Tron: Ares, the third movie in the sci-fi series. He started the franchise with Tron in 1982 and was in Tron: Legacy in 2010. Jared Leto stars in this new film as Ares, with Joachim Rønning directing.
The actor said he’s excited to work with Leto and admired his previous work. Tron is famous for its use of computer-generated imagery to create a digital world inside a video game. In the sequel, his character gets trapped in a more advanced version of the game.
He mentioned not liking his appearance in the sequel and hinted that the new film might use fewer digital effects and more practical sets. He didn’t give much detail about his role in Tron: Ares, but it’s uncertain if he’ll reprise his previous character. The new movie will focus on Leto’s character, who ventures into the human world.
The cast includes Leto, Evan Peters, Greta Lee, Gillian Anderson, and others. Leto has been attached to the project since 2017, with Rønning joining as director in 2023. Source
