The animation company GKids has secured the rights for theaters, home video, and online transactions for the anime series Dan Da Dan. This series is produced by the well-known animation studio, Science SARU, known for works like Devilman Crybaby and Inu-Oh. Dan Da Dan is the first series directed by Fuga Yamashiro from this studio. The music for the series is composed by Kensuke Ushio, who is known for his work on Chainsaw Man and Devilman Crybaby.
Dan Da Dan is based on a manga by Yukinobu Tatsu, who previously assisted Tatsuki Fujimoto on the popular Chainsaw Man series and Yuji Kaku on Hell’s Paradise Jigokuraku. The anime tells the story of a high school girl named Momo, who comes from a family of spirit mediums, and a boy named Okarun, who is obsessed with the occult.
GKIDS is proud to announce the acquisition of Theatrical & Home Entertainment rights to DAN DA DAN, the highly anticipated new series from Science SARU, based on the manga by Yukinobu Tatsu. 🛸👻

Their adventure begins when Momo saves Okarun from bullies. They soon find themselves arguing about their beliefs—Momo is convinced ghosts exist but not aliens, while Okarun believes in aliens but not ghosts. This leads to a series of events where both teenagers encounter supernatural forces that grant them extraordinary powers.
This acquisition marks the sixth title from Science SARU that GKids has brought to local audiences, following others like Lu Over the Wall and Ride Your Wave. Additionally, GKids celebrated a win at the Oscars this year with the award for Best Animated Feature for the film The Boy and the Heron by Hayao Miyazaki and Studio Ghibli. Source
