Extremely Unique Dynamic, a comedy-drama film, is set to release in North America later this year. The film will be distributed by Strand Releasing, which plans to release it in theaters in late fall.
The film, made in the U.S., tells the story of two best friends who push the boundaries of their relationship while creating a triple-meta movie. It premiered in March at the Sonoma International Film Festival and has also been shown at Inside Out and CAAMFest.
Directed by Ivan Leung and Harrison Xu, the film features performances by Leung from The Tender Bar, Xu from Last Summer of Nathan Lee, Hudson Yang from Fresh Off the Boat, and Nathan Dean from Ginormo. The cinematography is by Steven Shulgach, editing by Michael Scotti Jr., sound design by Nikola Simikic, and the original score by Ian Mackley.
Leung and Xu produced the film through their company Heroic Impact, with Noel Do-Murakami as another producer. Michael Scott Jr. served as an associate producer, and Katherine Dudas was a co-writer and co-director.
Jon Gerrans of Strand Releasing made a deal with Xu, who is also a producer, co-writer, and co-director.
Marcus Hu from Strand Releasing expressed excitement about working with Harrison and Ivan, praising their debut film’s energetic quality. Xu and Leung shared their enthusiasm about partnering with Strand Releasing, highlighting the company’s support for quality and diverse films that offer unique and thought-provoking content beyond mainstream Hollywood. They hope audiences will enjoy watching the film as much as they enjoyed making it. Source
