Tyler Perry has just signed a new agreement with BET Media Group that will last several years. As part of this deal, eight of his shows will continue to appear on BET and its streaming service, BET+. Additionally, BET has committed to a brand-new show from Perry called Route 187, which he will produce, direct, and write. This new series is expected to be a crime drama centered around incidents occurring on a specific bus route.
Under this new arrangement, several of Perry’s existing shows have been renewed, including Tyler Perry’s Sistas for its eighth season, Tyler Perry’s The Oval for its sixth season, Tyler Perry’s Assisted Living also for its sixth season, and Tyler Perry’s House of Payne for its sixth season on BET (which is actually its twelfth season overall, considering its previous runs on other networks).
Additionally, shows on BET+ like Tyler Perry’s Zatima, Tyler Perry’s Ruthless, Tyler Perry’s Bruh, and All The Queen’s Men are set to return with new seasons.
This new contract with BET is not exclusive, which means Perry can still work with other companies. It replaces his earlier partnership with BET that started in 2019 when BET launched its new streaming service, BET+. Perry has also recently broadened his relationship with Netflix, adding TV series to their collaborative efforts.
