Adam Sandler stars in a new Netflix movie called Spaceman, which is a science fiction story with a thoughtful twist. In this film, Sandler plays an astronaut named Jakub who’s on a six-month solo space mission far away in the solar system. As he spends time alone, Jakub starts feeling lonely and begins to question the stability of his marriage back on Earth.
During his journey, Jakub encounters a giant spider-like creature on his spaceship. Named Hanuš and voiced by Paul Dano, this creature might be a figment of Jakub’s imagination or something more. It plays a crucial role in helping him understand the problems in his life.
Carey Mulligan appears as Lenka, Jakub’s wife, and the film also features Kunal Nayyar, Lena Olin, and Isabella Rossellini. “Spaceman” is adapted from the 2017 novel “Spaceman of Bohemia” by Czech writer Jaroslav Kalfař.
The movie is directed by Johan Renck, known for Chornobyl, and the screenplay is written by Colby Day. Spaceman will be briefly shown in theaters on February 23 before becoming available on Netflix on March 1. This film is part of Adam Sandler’s ongoing collaboration with Netflix, following his roles in “You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, Leo, and Murder Mystery 2.
