Get ready to return to Arrakis from the comfort of your couch. Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two will be available to stream on Max next Tuesday, May 21.
The blockbuster has made a huge impact, surpassing $500 million at the global box office in March, which is more than the entire run of the first movie. It opened with $81.5 million domestically and $97 million internationally. Warner Bros. and Legendary Entertainment co-produced and co-financed the film, which cost $190 million to make and around $100 million to promote.
Based on the second half of Frank Herbert’s 1965 science-fiction novel, Dune: Part Two follows Timothée Chalamet’s character, Paul Atreides, as he joins forces with the Fremen to save the galaxy from the Harkonnen empire, who killed his father.
The film features new cast members Austin Butler, Florence Pugh, Christopher Walken, and Léa Seydoux, along with returning stars Zendaya, Rebecca Ferguson, Javier Bardem, Josh Brolin, and Stellan Skarsgård.
The visions are clear now.

The first film, Dune: Part One, received 10 Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture, and won for original score, sound, film editing, cinematography, production design, and visual effects. It earned over $400 million globally.
While a third Dune movie hasn’t been approved by Warner Bros. yet, Villeneuve has said he’ll only make it if he’s sure it will be better than Dune: Part Two. Villeneuve’s 2021 Dune: Part One is currently streaming on Max, as well as David Lynch’s 1984 adaptation, which received mixed reviews. Source
